Delete your Risalah account
You can remove individual things without closing your account, close the account from inside the app, or ask us to erase it by email if you no longer have the app installed.
From the app
- Open Risalah and go to Profile.
- Open Settings, then Account.
- Choose Delete account.
- Read what will be removed, type DELETE to confirm, and enter your password.
The account is closed immediately and every signed-in device is signed out.
By email
If you cannot open the app — a lost phone, or you uninstalled it already — write to support@risalahapi.net from the address your account uses, with Account deletion request as the subject.
We reply to confirm it is you before anything is removed, and complete the request within 30 days.
Deleting some of your data
You do not have to close your account to remove something. Each of these takes effect immediately, on every device.
- A comment — open it and choose delete. It is removed for everyone.
- A collection — open it and choose delete, including any you had made public.
- A bookmark — tap the bookmark again on the book, article or lecture.
- Your search history — Search, then clear. This removes it from the account and from every device it had synced to.
- Downloads and cached pages — Settings, then Downloads, or turn off offline caching, which also forgets what it kept.
For anything not in that list — reading history, or your profile details on their own — write to support@risalahapi.net saying what you want removed. We complete those within 30 days and your account stays open.
What is deleted, and what is kept
Removed straight away
- Access to the account — it can no longer be signed into, on any device.
- Every active session and sign-in token.
- Your email address is released, so it can be used to register again.
Removed on a full erasure request
- Your profile: name, email, and anything optional you added — phone number, gender, country, address.
- Your reading progress, reading history, bookmarks and collections.
- Your comments, likes and follows.
- Your search history, if you used search sync.
Kept, and why
- Records of purchases, for as long as tax and accounting law requires. These are transaction records, not a profile of you. Subscriptions themselves are managed by Google Play and are cancelled there.
- Aggregate usage counts. Risalah records how often a feature is used per day, per country, per device type — and nothing else. There is no user identifier and no IP address in those tables, so there is nothing in them that could be traced back to you and nothing to remove.
- Anything you chose to make public that others have since saved or built on, where removing it would delete their work rather than yours.
